About
Hi, I’m Kellianne. I’m a hairstylist, and I’m pretty stoked by what I do. I’ve been told that my precision cutting and texturizing techniques make for long, gorgeous grow outs. I’m a pretty obsessive chopper, bobber, and texturizer.
I also dig building special occasion hair that is a pretty detailed and modern departure from the common pinned-up and teased look, working in a style that is more often about texture, movement, and form. My inspirations range from the golden age of Hollywood, to sexy 1960s porn star hair, to anything utterly modern. I will happily pin, sew, bump, braid, blow, and curl your hair for any night out.
I’m currently into creating natural color, taking into account the lighting of the seasons, the lighting of your skin, and whatever lifestyle you choose.
After years of coloring and cutting the hair of anyone who had a creative and brave spirit, I turned to the inspirational streets of New York City to craft a professional career out of my little hair hobby. After completing my professional training in 2002 at the Aveda Institute in Soho, I trained with the artists and long time fashion-forward icons at Space Salon (also in Soho). There, I was fortunate enough to learn Vidal Sassoon technique, lots of Japanese-style texturizing, and lots of handy tips and tricks about balancing easy edginess and glamour with approachable beauty. New York also gave me my start working on exciting editorial and commercial fashion shoots. While there, I was able to concentrate on some wonderful underground fashion shoots, was given the opportunity to work on The View, and created commercial looks for companies like Target and Lane Bryant.
In 2008, I took my quest for everyday glamour to Seattle, Washington, where I’ve expanded my knowledge of color and aimed to balance a continually changing chic urban lifestyle with easy natural living.
I’m proud to announce that I’ve has become a part of the team at VAIN, a wonderful hotseat of creative, community minded individuals with locations in Downtown Seattle and Ballard. When I’m not working in the salon, I spend much of my time practicing yoga, snuggling with a danderific cat named Sopor, and having inspirational idea sessions with my awesome husband.
Thanks for checking out my internet digs. I hope to see you in the salon soon!

I’m stoked to get my hair all pimped out, I’ve got an appt. at The Vain location in Ballard on Tues. I’m a little sensitive when it comes people dong my crazy hair but have I’ve heard great things about you. can’t wait to meet ya!
I LOVE my new haircut so much. I was a little nervous after my hair disaster (last Easter, um, yes, I am a very low-maintenance hair girl, and get it cut once a year at most), but you were awesome. I know I told you I’d probably come back in six months, but I might even have to make it three or four. You’re a total ROCK STAR. I had a great time and you’ve managed to fix my whacky straight/curly head. Thank you.
Hey Kellianne,
It was great to see you last week, loving my haircut! I wanted to send you some links to the mom resources I love in Seattle. I am so excited for you, you look amazing!
First Weeks - This was my savior the firt 8 weeks after Julian was born. It’s a free drop in class for new mom’s where you can get together and discuss just about anything. It’s moderated by nurses who have a wealth of information. I met some wonderful women who I still keep in touch with today. More info here http://www.birthandbeyond.com/firstweeks.html
Yahoo Mom’s Groups - I belong to Capitol Hill, Madrona and Queen Anne. Great for buying baby stuff, learning about events, activities, schools, etc… There might be a Belltown mom’s group, not sure. http://dir.groups.yahoo.com/group/capitolhillparenting/?v=1&t=directory&ch=web&pub=groups&sec=dir&slk=24
